Coming so close after BN declared their illegal GE-13 victory, this must be a Divine Sign of the UNDERLYING ROT of the collapsing BN govt. It is only a matter of time.
KUALA LUMPUR - Nine cars parked at a private parking lot near the Bukit Nanas monorail station in Jalan Sultan Ismail here were damaged in a landslide during a downpour yesterday .
It is understood that the rain at 6.30pm had caused the soil on the slope to loosen. After 30 minutes, the landslide occurred.
Logeswaran, an engineer who works at a company opposite the parking lot, said his two-month-old Honda Civic was buried in the landslide, which also brought traffic to a standstill in the area.
"I bought my car for RM90,000. I normally park it there for the day until I finish work," he said as he contemplated the fate of his vehicle.
It is understood that the continuous rain had prevented Fire and Rescue Department personnel from clearing the debris and soil to extricate the vehicles.
At press time, the rain was still pouring and there were signs of unstable soil movement. No one was hurt and the authorities had cordoned off the area.
